Why K J Smith is Proud to Support Chaising Sport
At K J Smith, we work with families every day. We see the pressures they can face and how much strong foundations matter for the people and communities around them. When we had the opportunity to partner with Chaising Sport, a Berkshire-based organisation doing fantastic work with children and young people, as well as senior citizens, it was a very easy “Yes!”
Who is Chaising Sport?
Chaising Sport was founded by brothers Will and Louie Chaisty and has grown into a thriving community organisation. What began as football coaching for around 150 children each week has expanded to reach more than 950 participants across Berkshire through programmes including:
- school clubs
- holiday camps
- home education PE sessions
- one-to-one coaching
- walking football
- community running clubs
Reaching so many children and families is quite an achievement, but what stood out most to us were the values behind it. Their mission is to create “great athletes and better people.”
Coaches are recruited as positive role models first, with every programme designed to build not only sporting ability but also confidence, resilience, teamwork, empathy and leadership. Those qualities run through everything they do.
Why this partnership matters to us
At K J Smith, we put people first. We work with integrity and care about the communities around us. As part of our wider ecosystem of care, we look for ways to support the organisations that make a real difference to the families and localities we serve. When we first spoke with Will and Louie, it quickly became clear that they run Chaising Sport with exactly those values in mind.
As Jess Bouwer, our Head of Marketing, says, “We are in awe of what Will and Louie have built through Chaising Sport and the investment they have made in their community. Their vision and mission are clear, and we’re proud to support them as they continue to grow.”
For us, this partnership is about far more than having our name on a shirt. It’s about supporting an organisation that’s creating opportunities for children, young people, older people and families across Berkshire.
How we’ve been supporting them so far
We’ve sponsored 100 Chaising Sport shirts and water bottles for participants and were proud to support the May half-term camp by providing trophies and funding ten free places for children to attend. We also presented Chaising Sport’s core values awards – the Teamwork Award, the Empathy Award and the Integrity Award. Watching those values celebrated by the children who had earned them was a genuine highlight.
We’re looking forward to supporting future Chaising Sport initiatives, including walking football tournaments and other community events.
Our Partnership
In Will Chaisty’s own words: “Partnerships with organisations like K J Smith have a real impact on what we’re able to achieve. Their support helps us make sport more accessible, invest in equipment and continue creating inclusive environments where every child feels welcome.
What attracted us to K J Smith was their strong local reputation and the values we share around community, family and supporting people. From our first conversations with Jess, it felt like a natural partnership. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and genuinely believe this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together.”
Looking ahead
Chaising Sport’s long-term ambition is to establish a dedicated facility where children and adults across Berkshire can take part in sport together. It’s an exciting vision, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting it. Done well, sport develops far more than athletic ability – and Chaising Sport clearly understands that.
We look forward to supporting their work in the years ahead.
