We understand how difficult it is to come forward and take action against an abuser.
Various legal avenues exist to help protect you and your loved ones. Whether you are ready to have a solicitor represent you or are still in the process of deciding, our team of experts are here to defend your corner.
Speaking to us about your circumstances during a free consultation allows you to be heard and supported by legal experts. Once we know more about the circumstances you are facing, we are able to help you navigate the legal options available to you.
Protection orders are a form of injunction. Depending on the case, injunctions can be issued quickly on an emergency basis by the court, sometimes as quickly as within 24 hours.
The abuser must comply with the order, or they may face jail time.
Our KJS team is experienced in actioning a range of protection orders specific to the client's circumstances.
If you have a personal relationship with the abuser (or you were in relationship with them), we can apply for a non-molestation order from the court. It prevents that person from contacting you or going near you or your home.
An occupation order can remove someone from your home, or prevent them from visiting. That person is not allowed to come into your home.
A restraining order is available in conjunction with criminal proceedings. It stops the person contacting you, or visiting your address or workplace. A warning letter is usually the best first step to take in these circumstances.
