Evie is a Family Solicitor who advises clients on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy, cohabitation disputes, children matters and urgent protective injunctions. She provides clear and practical guidance while supporting clients through what can often be a particularly challenging time in their lives. Evie is passionate about ensuring clients feel informed, reassured and confident as they navigate the legal process.
Evie studied Law at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2022. During her degree she gained valuable experience as an intern working between the University and Warwickshire County Council. Alongside her studies, Evie was actively involved in sport and played hockey regularly.
She went on to complete her Legal Practice Course with a Masters at the University of Law in Birmingham before undertaking her training contract at a regional firm in the West Midlands. During this time, Evie completed seats in Family Law, Civil Litigation and Corporate and Commercial, gaining a broad legal foundation while developing her particular interest in family law.
Evie discovered her passion for law at an early stage through competing in the Citizenship Foundation’s Bar Mock National Trial Competition. Her team went on to win the national finals in Cardiff in 2018. The experience sparked her interest in advocacy and legal problem solving, and she now looks forward to continuing to develop her advocacy skills throughout her career.
Evie was drawn to K J Smith because of its specialist focus on family law and its strong commitment to supporting and developing its people. She particularly values the firm’s collaborative culture and the opportunities available through initiatives such as the Emerging Leaders Programme.
