Aaron O'Malley is a senior family law solicitor with extensive experience helping his clients resolve conflicts. Aaron mainly advises private individuals with matters arising out of a personal relationship breakdown, including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements and property ownership disputes. Aaron is also able to advise in relation to pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
His practice stands out for its in-depth expertise in complex financial cases and high-conflict children’s disputes. With over 15 years of experience in Family Law, Aaron is known for his strategic, pragmatic, and empathetic approach to each case.
Aaron’s practice has a high proportion of cases in which he needs to advise those with complex financial structures, often involving offshore trusts, inherited wealth, third party interests, family businesses, business assets and uninformed and undefined benefit pension schemes. Aaron has considerable experience in cases involving financial provision for children of unmarried parents and disputes relating to cohabiting couples.
Aaron’s practice also involves many cases dealing with private children’s law, particularly in high-conflict cases where sensitive matters like parental alienation, international relocation, and allegations of coercive control or narcissistic personality disorder are involved. He works closely with clients to ensure the best interests of the child are at the forefront of all decisions, striving for amicable resolutions whenever possible.
With numerous cases involving international elements, his practice includes handling cases where clients need advice in respect of international relocation with children or where the client may face international child abduction issues.
As a long-standing member of Resolution, Aaron is dedicated to resolving disputes with minimal conflict and publicity. He advocates for the use of alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, arbitration, and round-table meetings, to secure bespoke, cost-effective solutions. However, he is equally comfortable in the courtroom when litigation becomes necessary, particularly in cases involving allegations of dishonesty or non-disclosure. His goal is always to find fair, client-focused and sensible solutions, whether through private hearings, mediation, or court proceedings.
Aaron’s clients come from all walks of life, including business owners, professionals, teachers, medical professionals, members of the armed forces and vulnerable individuals and occasionally those from the world of entertainment, and he is known for his discretion and sensitivity.
