Kate is a Solicitor in the Family Law team. She represents clients who are going through the breakdown of a relationship and helps them move on to the next chapter of their lives.
Kate listens to clients to understand what they want to achieve in the divorce or separation and thinks carefully about the most cost-effective route to making that happen. She negotiates with the other side in a way that considers their point of view, while still advocating for the rights of her client.
Taking this diplomatic approach, she de-escalates tensions between partners and finds a financial settlement that both parties agree on. She also helps her clients to agree on the arrangements for children.
Kate is part of our charitable fundraising team at KJ Smith and has helped us organise events to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, and other charities and support groups
Q: Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests?
A: I enjoy reading fiction, eating good food, and spending time with my family, friends, and dog.
Q: Who would be your dream dinner party guests, and why?
A: Greg Davies, Tom Kerridge, and Taylor Swift. One for the laughter, one for the food, and one for the music.
Q: What’s something random about yourself that your colleagues wouldn’t know?
A: I grew up competitively ice-skating and performing around the country.
