Geoff Watts, Chief Executive at K J Smith Solicitors, will be running the Reading Half Marathon on the 18th March, raising funds for local charity Me2 Club.
Me2 Club are a Woodley based charity who enable children and young people with additional needs and disabilities in the Wokingham Borough to attend mainstream activity clubs by recruiting, training and developing volunteers to provide 1:1 support at an activity of their choice.
Me2 Club trained volunteers support young people by encouraging them to be independent, participating in the activities alongside them and adapting activities to ensure they can take part. In 2011 Me2 Club were awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The Queen’s Award is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities.
