Collaborative Divorce - an alternative way to proceed
Collaborative Law is a relatively new and innovative procedure, designed to solve family problems in a non-confrontational manner. It is easy to assume that the divorce process is difficult and unpleasant. When used appropriately a collaborative process can bring simple and constructive results, especially in the resolution of issues relating to child law or financial matters.
Both parties and their collaborative solicitors sign an agreement promising to attempt to resolve matters without going to Court.
Although effective, the collaborative process will not be suitable in every case. It requires a degree of goodwill between both parties and a mutual commitment to resolve issues.
